One of my friends has an ideapad Y450. (actually, I sold it to him years ago. lol. he chose the model though.) It works fine expect that it gets overheated and shuts down everytime he tries to play star cratf II (genuine, he paid a lot of money for that game) on it. :D
Please feel free to point out any mistakes in my messages. That will be helpful for me to make less mistakes in the future. :-)

I don't know. I'm not familious with notebooks. That Y450 got a pentium dual-core and a nvidia GT 130m video inside. I think the newer production processes might have reduced the heat dispersion as well as power consumption.
