AMD A8-3850 CPU & GPU Performance

Conclusion:
CPU performance is pretty much like an Athlon II quad-core with same frequency. IGP performance is on par with a Radeon HD6450 entry-level discrete video card.
Not very impressive.

AMD just can't seem to catch up with Intel.

Yep. A8-3850 is the flagship in the upcoming A line-up. It's reported to cost $170 USD, nearly as much as an intel Core i5 2400. Yet it can't beat a dual-core i3 2100 in terms of cpu performance.

I hope the long expected FX series processors(AKA bulldozer) will live up to the expectation.

It's not that cheat if you count on the fact that Core i5 2400 goes for $190 too.
