Boooom!!!! just to add don't blame nvidia for non reference gpus blowing up. The manufacturers use their own bios and remove the bios image from nvidia. That's why it went boom at boot.

Information is far more fragile than the HDDs it's stored on. Being an afterthought is no excuse for a bad product.
