So, I've fixed up my old IBM a little bit:
-New palmrest/upper casing
-Replaced missing key on keyboard
-New Heatsink/Fan
-New Heatsink vent cover
-New HDD Caddy/cover plate
-32GB SSD
-Cleaned up everything and made it all shiny.

Anyway, the point is that Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit is using "Standard VGA Adapter that won't let me do Aero and it won't let me use Sleep mode :-( and of course all the other shit that happens.
I've tried like 3 different 3rd-party drivers they did not help.
Please provide the right drivers.
Thanks!

I think the video card of the X31 is too old to support DirectX 9.0. That's why you can't enable aero on your x31.

Progress: used the XP from the lenovo website, now at least I have a driver ;) still no Aero though.

Fuck IBM they should have used a better video card!

Does it have 16MB Radeon 7000 graphics? If so, I doubt it would support Aero.

I try to avoid buying a laptop that has dedicated graphics. They usually cook themselves after a few years (or sound like a jumbo jet)

It is working fine just no Aero. Yes it's the 16MB Radeon 7000...
My Lenovo has Intel HD 3000 and while running cool it has great gaming performance!
