Why do sites/ads of web hosts alwasy have an image of a female support staff with a headset?

I notice the same thing, it's normally always women, very rarely men. With the headset, it's trying to proove the point that they offer support, I believe.

Are men too ugly for web hosting sites or something?

No, but they did some sort of study proving that men are more likely to purchase something if it has a hot women on the packaging. I guess the same applies to web hosting. Personally, even though I am a male, I go by quality not home page pictures, but I can see how that can influence less experiences users.

The hot woman concept doesn't always happen, but most the time it does. I'm with you, I look at the specifications of the host, rather than the fancy pictures.
