Innards of the Antec VP350 PSU. OEM is Delta. Unlike the VP350P sold in China, the VP350 has no PFC. I think it's illegal to sell PSU's with no PFC in EU and AU.
The PWM controller of the test sample was fried while Gabriel Torres was trying to overload it.

Hardware secrets said in the review that it was the switching transistor which blew during the overload test. at any rate, that must be a first for a Delta built unit.

It looks like they are using good caps there - entirely Chemi-con and Rubycon. My Delta DPS-750CB has almost as many caps as that on the secondary side, although mine are all Rubycon and Chemi-con electrolytics.

The soldering looks awful. I can solder better than that! At least it does use good caps and has decent cooling on the secondary side.

That unit is manufactured by a little-known company called UT. Thermaltake use UT for their entry-level PSU lines too. Thermaltake's W3091/3091/3093 PSUs are based on the same topology as the Pccooler Z9 (You'd expect the soldering job to be just as terrible.)

I think I just realised something with the Corsair VS450W on the previous page. If you look at the second picture (the one on the secondary side), the capacitor next to the 3.3V torroid coil is blue with a Tristar vent stamp, which means it's probably either Jun Fu or Fuhjyyu!!
