testing power supply ripple?

Thanks c_hegge for some reason I'm not getting any reading, I have the probe set to 1X, measure to VPP, time in 5ms, and display voltage at 120mV

Connect it to the 12V output with the power supply powered off. When you turn it on, you should see a 12V spike as it powers on. If you can't see that, then it sounds like a contact issue.

One other thing you could try is changing the coupling setting. I can't remember off the top of my head whether it needs to be AC or DC (although I think it might be AC)

Okay cool I will try that when I go into work tomorrow! Maybe change the time setting to something like 20ms?

I use 20mS/Div on mine (which is 200mS for the entire display).
