Antec Phantom 350W

It's a fanless PSU. It looks really impressive. it's quiet. And it's got this impressive looking blue light on the back that turns on instead of the fan so you know it's on, and it has a 6-Pin PCI-Express...

But looking into the rear vents I see an ugly capacitor with a "barbed wire" top...so does this PSU suck? It's going into an AMD Athlon 64X2 machine that might be used as a Media PC and/or email and/or folding@home...

Is a fanless PSU adequate? I did a 15 minute test run yesterday and it was not even warm at the back...

One damn impressive unit, heavy as hell, and i feel sorry for the $19.99 Rosewill case LOL!

Yes it does. Antec uses Mucon branded caps in their phantom units which are as bad as fuhjyyu. They really haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will. I'd just forget the warranty and recap it. I do that to all PSUs which I intend on keeping, even if they're brand new.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D
