Fleabay "Nippon" Caps

Postby c_hegge » July 26th, 2011, 10:25 pm

I saw this on fleabay yesterday. The seller claims that they are nippon (chemi-con) caps but...

... they are really the infamous Sacon FZ (or so the picture suggests)

I bought a lot of 10 off him just to see what they really are. If they are actually sacon FZ, they're going in a fire.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

Asrock likes using a kind of caps with blue marking on them. They look sort of like Nippon Chemi-con polymers at the first glance. But when I looked carefully, I noticed that the blue colour on those caps is a little darker than the one on NCCs. Could they be Sacon as well? :-/

nah, sacon have the "FZ__" markings on them. I can't really make out the markings on those, but they don't look like FZ

I just did some research on Sacon. Some people advertise that Sacon is a Korean brand. It's official webisite suggests it's a Taiwanese brand though. :D

Sacon is indeed Taiwanese, formerly known as GSC. They are the most unreliable brand of cap out there (arguabally worse than fuhjyyu).

:D Hoping the caps you bought from fleabay are indeed NCC polymers. Otherwise you have to DIY firecracker with them :-)

Ah, yes, I did. They are indeed sacon FZ. I'm going to hold them by the legs in pliers over a candle. Easy DIY firecrackers.
