This is a somewhat futuristic design, and being of a somewhat more conservative nature, it really isn’t for me, personally.

In my view, that sort of look is not so much "futuristic" as just "arbitrarily imitating the appearance of some (fighter plane or whatever)". This is as a firm believer in the "form follows function" principle, I should remind. That's not to say that I think products should be deliberately made ugly, but what's wrong with the standard rectangular form (with rounded edges as appropriate to avoid a scratch risk)?

I could go on, but suffice to say that I think fashion is largely bullshit.
Information is far more fragile than the HDDs it's stored on. Being an afterthought is no excuse for a bad product.
