Opera (since 8.0) has support for the SVG 1.1 Tiny specification while Opera 9 includes SVG 1.1 Basic support and some of SVG 1.1 Full. Opera 9.5 has partial SVG Tiny 1.2 support. It also supports SVGZ (compressed SVG).
Browsers based on the Gecko layout engine (such as Firefox, Flock, Camino, and SeaMonkey) all have had incomplete support for the SVG 1.1 Full specification since 2005. The Mozilla site has an overview of the modules which are supported in Firefox[56] and of the modules which are in progress in the development.[57] Gecko 1.9, included in Firefox 3.0, adds support for more of the SVG specification (including filters).[58]
Browsers based on WebKit (such as Apple's Safari, Google Chrome, and The Omni Group's OmniWeb) have had incomplete support for the SVG 1.1 Full specification since 2006.[59]
Amaya has partial SVG support.
Internet Explorer 8 and older versions do not support SVG.[60][61] IE9 (released 14 March 2011) supports the basic SVG feature set.[62] IE10 extended SVG support by adding SVG 1.1 filters.[63]
The Maxthon Cloud Browser also supports SVG

Mostly it is "incomplete" or "basic feature set". Does not seem to be that reliable. I'd stick with PNG, we'll see in a few years. The current browser situation is tragic, Presto in Opera 12.17 seems to really start getting obsolete and there is NO suitable replacement.

Courtesy of me playing around in Inkscape, here's another version. It's the same overall size as last year's, but with the following differences:
  • A more prominent blue gradient in the background (last year's looked a bit flat, I think)
  • I haven't recreated the bevelled corners in this iteration, as it's a bit tricky to do in Inkscape…
  • The font is still Source Sans Pro, but not oblique (to be more readable). As Inkscape takes font heights in pixels rather than points, they are now 48px for "Hardware Insights", 112px for the grade, and 96px for "award". "Hardware Insights" and "award" are still in the Black/Heavy weight, but the grade is just bold. I've also added a nifty gradient, to give a more metallic (and, on the Fail award, plastic ) look . I got the gold colour from here (scaling the intensity to suit); the bronze colour is still approximate. (If you like, I could try a "fancier" font - but I'll be limited to free fonts, I won't do script, and definitely no cursive. :silly:)
  • A nice drop shadow "behind" the badges.
This version is created as a vector, so I can give any desired resolution on demand. If you like, you can give me a pic of the sweater and I could make one for passing the Sweater Contest, too…

(Quick edit: Moved the grade text up a bit, as it was a bit too close to "award". I've also prepared one that says "Honorable Mention" in green, if we see fit to use it sometime…)

I'd make the "contest" smaller, as I got it before so it does not cover so much of the sweater…than pls also make one for FAIL, one WIN (for future fanless units which manage to run indefinitelly in the sweater) and one just plain (no fail or pass or win).

Behemot mentioned in a PM to me that he was…
…thinking about some special funny awards, we can start with something like "last one standing" or "strongman" or something like that…

…so here is such an award. This one has an additional shadow under the "STRONGMAN" text for greater "impact", and I've tried out five different fonts (Impact which is included with Windows, and Antilles, Evogria, Major Force and Redline Condensed downloaded from this site) so we can choose the one that looks best.

I'm also uploading that "Honorable Mention" badge I mentioned before; its intended use is for products that would have gotten an award, but for some stumbling block.
