Currently I'm using shared hosting that is completely unlimited.

That's not too bad, lots of unlimited features for a great price. The site isn't slow for me, it's got the speed that I would expect from most web pages. Since you're using MyBB, I recommend you look at this guide, it will help to speed up the forum.

Well, the thing is, every web host that claims unlimited is lying before you even pay.

I agree. There is no such concept as 'unlimited' - People go for it though as it's the feeling of not being limited to anything, meaning it's the best. Frankly I would rather have 100mb of space, as that's all I need for my forum, and all most people are going to need, and a couple of GB worth of bandwidth, and a few ftp, mysql, email accounts.

I would offer 500MB for $1/month, on much less loaded servers than "Unlimited" hosting

What control panel would clients get? There is only one control panel that I love, and I'm sure you can guess what that is.

Its not cPanel. But IMO it is much easier to use and has pretty similar features.
