AOC details the e2251Fwu USB-powered monitor

Seen last week at the CEA Line Show in New York, the e2251Fwu 21.5-inch monitor from AOC has now received its own shout out, and was announced by its maker (AOC) as having a release scheduled for August.

No price tag was mentioned, but AOC did provide a few details on the display, like the fact that it can be powered via a USB port and that it features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a typical brightness of 200 cd/m2. Also included are some unnamed functions that improve image quality. The main thing to remember here is the USB power thing.

I wonder what kind of USB port can power a 21.5 monitor? lol. Ya know, normally, a typicial USB port could provide 500mA @ 5V. That's a total of 2.5 Watts. If this is real, it could be a good choise for c_hegge's breif case computers. :D

Good point. Doesn't USB 3.0 provide additional power?

I can get a pair of DDR3 4GB RAM for slightly cheaper than $54.99 if I don't pay the tax. :D
