Acer Iconia Tab A100 Tablet – Review

Introduction

Although it only cost about $270, the Acer Iconia Tab A100 has fairly good specifications. It’s got a 7″ 1024×600 touchscreen, a dual-core nVidia Tegra 2 CPU based on the ARM Cortex A9 architecture, 1GB of RAM, (even though software only detects about 768MB), and 8GB of built-in storage space. It’s got two cameras, one 2MP front-facing camera for video chat, etc, and a slightly better 5MP camera in the back with auto-focus and a flash. It’s 13.1mm thick, with a height of 195mm and a width of 117mm. According to the documentation included, it’s got “1350mAHx2” Lithium-ion batteries. I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean, maybe it has two batteries? If it doesn’t, then it would be quite a wimpy battery; if it does, I expect a solid 7-8 hours of battery life. But we’ll see about that soon enough, eh? ;)

If you want to see some better pictures than those made by my camera, head over to Acer’s product page for the Acer Iconia Tab A100. However, for your convenience, I’ll put two of their excellent pictures here:
