Behemot (in the article) wrote:Its 135mm Silencio FP fan however does not promise silent operation under full load, when according to CM the speed can reach 2500 RPM. Indeed, 2500 RPM for 135mm fan, that's most likely very close to sound level of helicopter.

Well, if the JonnyGURU review is any indication, the fan doesn't actually get close to maximum speed under normal conditions. The nominal speed of the fan is 2800RPM (!), according to its label…

The build quality of the unit does appear to be exquisite, but perhaps it's just vastly over-engineered for the job…

The non-MIJ version is cheaper (though still far from cheap overall), but (also according to JonnyGURU) suffers from a fragile power switch. It also has quite high ripple on +3.3V and +5V (about 45mV each at full load, not far below the 50mV limit and rather disgraceful for a unit still in the "high-end" price range). So, even at the lower price, it's probably not much better value for money, in my view…

That very much depends on ambient temp and system airflow. Considering full load, in good case with lower ambient temp it will be more silent while at some New Mexico or Nevada and mounted on top of a case it will most likely run on full speed all the time
